1.    About ECUST

Located in Shanghai, East China University of Science and Technology （ECUST） was founded in 1952. ECUST is one of the national key universities directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. The main campus is situated in downtown Xuhui District and easily accessible by Metro Line 15. ECUST started enrollment and cultivation for international students in 1956. Being one of the authorized HSK test centers in China, it offers year-round Chinese language courses to international students.

2.    About Courses

2.1           Program Features

•   Different Levels: 6 levels for elementary, intermediate and advanced language acquisition.

•   Small Classes: Each class with a maximum of 20 international students.

•   Comprehensive Training: Diverse curriculum elements including listening, speaking, reading and writing which are combined together to improve language ability.

•   Professional Faculties: Experienced Chinese language teachers offering instructions and guidance.

•   Target-oriented Teaching: Enhancement of integrated application of Chinese language.

•   Degree Upgrade: Priority for admission to ECUST undergraduate or postgraduate program.

•   Officially Granted: Certificate and transcript offered upon graduation.

2.2           Teaching Format

•     Program duration: February 26^th, 2024-June 28^th, 2024

•     Registration: February 26^th-27^th, 2024

•     Curricula Setting

* The class will be open with minimum 6 students for each level.

•     Class Schedule

* A total of 18 weeks in one semester, please refer to the timetable for detailed schedule.

* Several cultural experience activities will be arranged during the semester to perceive China.

2.4           Program Cost

* Application fee is non-refundable, which should be paid when submitting the application.

* Tuition should be paid at one time.

3.    Application Process

3.1           Eligibility

•     Non-Chinese citizens hold regular passport.

•     Aged between 16-60 and in good health.

•      

3.2           How to Apply

•    STEP1: Click Register, use your Email to register and sign in

•    STEP2: Start application -- Self-sponsored -- select "Chinese language Student"

•    STEP3: Fill in personal information, upload passport, study experience, resume and study plan

•    STEP4: Submit

•    STEP5: Pay application fee, upload payment proof （Only remittance or bank transfer needed）

3.3           Application Deadline

Period 1: February 20^th, 2024 （open to all applicants）

Period 2: February 29^th, 2024 （open to applicants in China only）

4.    How to Pay

Payment of tuition shall be completed within 5 days after getting the E-admission letter.

5.    Admission Procedure

5.1           Please follow the application process （Article 3）, and pay the application fee. Results will be coming out in 2 weeks.

5.2           Please pay the tuition within 5 days after getting the E-admission letter, and send over the payment proof to cie@ecust.edu.cn （Only remittance or bank transfer needed）.

5.3           Once your payment is received, the documents for student visa will be issued.

5.4           Online placement test of Chinese proficiency will be arranged.

5.5           Course instruction will be released in the first week of school, and all new students are requested to complete registration.

5.6           Students can apply for class change within one week after the course starts. Any group with less than 6 students will be merged.

6.    Others

•   About visa

Documents for student visa shall be provided after admission.

•   About accommodation

On-campus dormitories are limited, dorm booking information will be informed later.

•   About refund

A full refund is available for those who give up enrollment and complete the withdrawal procedure and visa cancellation procedure before registration day; no refund after the first two weeks since the registration day.
